A few pics…

Hello everyone! I have been meaning to post but twin mom life keeps me SUPER busy! I just wanted to post a few pics of my beautiful peanuts. I don’t have time to write much because I can hear the babes stirring right now. They are doing wonderfully and constantly changing. I cannot believe it’s been 5 weeks since I had them! Crazy! Time is flying! Anyways, here they are…

3 weeks and some change…

Hi all! My little peanuts are three weeks and some change at this point. Both are doing fabulous! They are the SWEETEST babies ever!!! They only cry when they are hungry or wet. They both have the best personalities and are so laid back. We are truly blessed!

So in a nutshell the past three weeks has flown by! I blame the majority of that on Harper’s NICU stay. Going back and forth to the hospital every day made things go by really fast. Then we had our parents in town for a week, which was amazing. I cried for days after they left.

I started off breastfeeding/pumping but long story short it was too much for me and rather than stress out about it, I stopped. The first two weeks though they got almost exclusively breastmilk, mostly by bottle. Neither seemed interested in latching, which was a huge deciding factor in me quitting. Feeding, then pumping was extremely stressful. So they are both on Enfamil Gentle ease which is working out pretty good. Tucker seems pretty uncomfortable a lot, grunts often, not sure why but will definitely mention at their next appt. It may be formula related. We originally had them on Enfamil high calorie for preemies, then went to Similac for fussiness/gas/etc. and now are on the Gentle ease. If the DR thinks the grunts are formula related I will probably try a lactose free formula. My older two were lactose intolerant. They both are taking 2-3 oz every 2-3 hrs and had a great weight gain at their 2 week appt.

Not much else really to report. They keep me so busy but I love every minute of it!! I am exhausted, and am lucky to squeeze in 2 meals a day but wow is it worth it to see their sweet faces! I will try and update as much as I can, but it is hard to make time for this blog. I am on FB, and post on there constantly, so if you want you can friend me on there…Jessica Sokol. Until next time, much love!! xoxo

Update

Hi there! Just a super quick update until I can sit down and think enough to write a full post. My beautiful loves were born 3/24/15 at 7:18 am and 7:19 am, my boy first. Tucker Nathaniel weighed 6 lb 7 oz, 19″ and Harper Olivia was 5 lb 15 oz, 19″. Both so beautiful!

Long story short, Tucker was fine and healthy but my sweet girl had to be trauma hawked to Dell Children’s Hospital bc she was having breathing issues. She had been in the NICU a little over a week. It has been heartbreaking, especially the night she was flown out. I will write more about details of everything soon. Good news is she is coming home today!! I am so excited!

Ok, have to go for now, I’m almost done pumping. Here is a pic of my super sweet babies.
