9 weeks

Well I am now in my ninth week of pregnancy with the twins. It feels like time is moving soooo slow! I feel like I have been pregnant forever already! I am totally missing seeing my babies every week. I almost wish I had stayed with my RE longer so I could get my weekly visits. I don’t miss paying $550 a week though! I don’t have my next appt. until October 7, 2 1/2 weeks away. I wish there was some way to know if they are OK. I hate wondering. I did order an Angelsounds doppler, hopefully I can hear something with it. I hate that I am still so paranoid. Every time I go to the bathroom I check to see if there is blood when I wipe. I am constantly grabbing my boobs to make sure they are still sore. It sucks!

I did get taken completely off my meds this week. I went for labs Thursday and my Estradiol was over 2400, Progesterone was 30 (he wants it at least over 15). The nurse called and said I could stop my Crinone. I questioned it because I am only 9 weeks but she assured me that I am fine. They will check my levels next week just to make sure it is at least still above 15. In the past couple weeks my Progesterone level went from 17 one week to 32 the next, she said that is the sign that the placenta has kicked in, which is what he looks for. She also said not to compare myself to others who may have been on it longer. Every DR has different protocols, as well as every patient different issues. Soooo I will just accept it and pray they know what they’re talking about! (I am sure they do) 🙂

As far as how I am feeling, well I am at my best when I first wake up. I wake up with energy and a strong appetite. By around 3/4:00 every day I start to go downhill. I get super tired, SUPER nauseous, and usually get a headache. The nausea is intense and I have literally tried everything from ginger tea, raw ginger under my tongue, sea bands, ginger ale, crackers (yuck), Emetrol, you get the point, I have tried it all, nothing works. I did recently try lemonade with ice and it seems to help slightly, only temporarily though, after about an hour, nausea is back full force. It sucks because I am home all day by myself, feeling good, and then by the time the kids get home from school and my hubby from work, I feel like complete shit so it is hard to enjoy hanging out with them because I just want to force myself to sleep to avoid feeling sick.

I do have a few food aversions, chicken is number one…YUCK!!! The thought of it makes me sick! Meat in general is just kind of gross to me right now. Also onions, I usually love onions on everything, now I loathe them. Dairy also grosses me out. I am almost always craving carbs and salty foods. Sweets don’t really appeal to me at all. I could seriously eat Mexican food every day.

My boobs are HUGE, especially when I first wake up. They just feel super big and tight. They are very sore also. My stomach is getting HUGE too! I am totally already showing. I look 4 months pregnant. I have only gained about 3-4 pounds, in my ass and hips I think. :-/ Here is a belly shot…

9 weeks

Yes, I know, my mirror is dirty! I honestly don’t care lately. Usually my house is spotless but I have been slacking big time lately!

As far as other symptoms, I don’t really have any. Oh, I do pee a lot. I mean A LOT! I literally am up EVERY hour at night to pee, I don’t sleep good at all lately. I also pee at least once an hour during the day, sometimes more than that! Sooo annoying!

Other than all that, I feel great! I am just beyond the moon excited. We already ordered both cribs, we pick them up Sunday. We also bought both car seats. We bought a twin stroller to go with them but it is super bulky so I think we are going to return it and just get a double Snap n’ Go. I also ordered my diaper bag, super cute, looks like a purse. I love it!

I cannot wait until these little peanuts get here. I fantasize about them all the time. I also thank God constantly. I think about how much and how long we struggled to have a baby and now we are blessed with two. It is awesome. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!!

  1. Haha your chicken adversion makes me laugh! I’ve been the same way and I’ve read a few others that have had the same adversion! Glad to hear all is going well so far. The weeks in between the appointments suck. 4 weeks at a time is killing me but luckily after next week I move to 2 week intervals! Sounds like you’re on top of the baby furniture! Getting our crib set up was one of the best things so far! 🙂

  2. Omg you’re going to 2 week intervals, time is flying by!!! You’re getting so close!! How exciting! I cannot wait to get to that point. I seriously hate waiting a month. It’s driving me crazy. If I could at least feel them move, I would be ok.

And yea chicken…GROSS!!!! My poor hubby loves chicken and I refuse to cook it. I just can’t. Same with pork (other than bacon of course), can’t do that either. So funny that it seems pretty common amongst us pregos.

    • Yeah it’s definitely getting closer!

As for the doppler – aloe vera gel works the same as ultrasound gel! That’s what I’ve been using!

My husband actually had to get my in-laws to change what they were making for lunch. They had chicken out and as I was out garage sailing my husband pleaded with them not make chicken due to my adversion. We are now having burgers lol.

I hope you’re able to use your doppler soon. I find it to be reassuring when I have doubts! 🙂

    • I know! I can’t imagine how big I’ll be when I give birth! My waist is still small for now (hard to see in the pic) but this pooch just keeps growing! Doppler is actually here but I forgot to order the U/s gel that goes with it so it’s useless until then. 😦 The gel will be here this upcoming week, can’t wait!!!

  3. I do the boob grab at least 100 times a day! I agree…time is not flying! Your bump is adorable…I can’t wait until I get a legit one. Right now it’s progesterone/estrogen chub :(. I need to get one of those Dopplers. Can’t wait to hear how you like yours.

    • Haha, I’m glad im not the only boob grabber! It’s crazy how neurotic I’ve become. I hate being nauseous but if I don’t get nauseous at night I freak out thinking something is wrong. Lol

  4. I don’t know if you already tried this (personally I never have but I’m studying midwifery and we were taught this…) but sniffing alcohol wipes or peppermint oil can help ease morning sickness. I have tried the peppermint oil when I was moments away from passing out (not pregnancy related) and it worked wonders. Deep breaths with them right under your nose can apparently be a miracle cure. Try it and let me know 🙂

    • I actually bought this thing called “Quease Ease”, it’s an essential oil stick. It’s got peppermint and ginger oil in it and whenever you feel nauseous you’re supposed to sniff if it and the nausea disappear. Well it does work, but for like 30 seconds. I’ve been wanting lavender oil to sleep anyways so today I may go get some and grab some peppermint oil as well. I will let you know how it works!

  5. Wow already an impressive bump! So exciting!
How you’ve been feeling reminds me of my first trimester. Nausea all afternoon through the evening & night, eating carbs and sweet fruit for dinner lol
    Good times eh? 🙂
    Hope you feel better soon!
I also peed a lot, for a very long time. I wouldn’t even go for walks because it was SO bad. It’s better now but still not great. And I’m always thirsty!

I’m so happy for you! I’ll continue to follow you 🙂

    • Thanks! Good to hear from you! 🙂

The nausea has actually been a little better the past few days( I probably just jinxed myself lol). My stomach is getting bigger by the minute! It’s crazy! They say the more pregnancies you’ve had the quicker you show, maybe that’s why?!
Happy for you too! You’re getting so close!! Xo

      • Yes more pregnancies the bigger you get! Ahhhh. It’s scary at times.
Yes closer and closer. It’s crazy. I’ll blink and baby will be in my arms. It’s been a crazy journey. I’ve come a long way!! And so have you :))

Glad the nausea is tapering. I tried going off Diclectin recently and nausea came back. Bah. Soooo I’m back in it.

      • Bummer your nausea came back but thank goodness your medicine controls it!

You’re right, before you know it that beautiful baby will be in your arms. So happy for you! xo

  6. Jessica – I just found out I’m 7 weeks pregnant with identical twins from my first IVF cycle. When did you really start showing? Sorry for commenting on this old post, I was looking back to see if you commented on this subject. I love your bump pics, and I remember thinking as I’ve been following you for quite a while, how much earlier you start to show being pregnant with twins! Let me know if you have any tips for a twin pregnancy. 🙂

    • Hi there! Congratulations on your twins!!! I would say I popped out a little pooch around 9 weeks. They say it happens faster with the more children you have had, and I have 2 already. I definitely got big FAST! Everyone is different though. I see some mommas that don’t pop until around weeks 16, and even later. I am not sure if you have Facebook but there is a great group on there called “Expecting Twins”, we all share stories and pictures, and just chat. I recommend it! 🙂

      • Cool, thank you! This is my first pregnancy, but I’m 7.5 weeks and I think I may have another couple of weeks before I can’t hide it anymore. I will have to check that out once I make it public knowledge. That’s the thing about facebook, you can’t do anything without everyone seeing it. Lol, but I’m looking forward to checking it out soon.
